The latest generation G series M3 & M4 (G8X) can opt for an M Performance large flow-through rear spoiler. This swan neck carbon spoiler looks fantastic but was originally only designed for the G series M3 & M4. We like to do things a bit differently here at Carbonwurks and as such, we have painstakingly designed a dedicated fitting kit to make this retrofit work in an OEM fashion for the previous generation M4 F82 in a full retrofit kit.

To ensure this beast of a wing is securely bolted, it requires a bracing kit. As the G8X cars have, we designed the F82 bracket kit to adopt the pick up points on the wing and to then bolt into the boot hinges with some upgraded metal work. With these cars capable of reaching some impressive speeds and the OEM bootlid being made of fibreglass, no risks should be taken with insufficient bracing.

With the carbon spoiler we have based our own “M-Performance” flow-through big wing on the OEM original but at a more cost effective price without compromising quality or fitment. Our design provides an aggressive look for the rear of your vehicle and enhances the styling dramatically as well as helping increase rear downforce on the car. The added downforce dramatically helps increase rear end stability under fast cornering and high speed braking. This is made with the same 2×2 twill carbon weave BMW use for their parts.

The Carbonwurks carbon fibre rear wing includes the M-Performance UV resistant vinyl lettering already applied to give you that true OEM look. This can be removed if preferred.

For those who don’t know much about Pre-Preg Autoclave carbon, this is the strongest and lightest carbon fibre available. The rear wing is cooked under immense pressure to give a very uniform and pin-hole free finish. With this being cured at high temps, it ensures longevity of the spoiler. The rear spoiler is then finished in a UV, high gloss lacquer before being hand and machined polished and being treated to a high content carnauba wax from our partners Race Glaze.

Installation

Fitment will require additional fixing points to be installed in the tailgate and for it to be drilled with 4 holes. With the fitting kit, included is a drilling template and all required fixings and brackets for installing this spoiler in the correct way. We always recommend using a competent bodyshop to undertake the installation. We standby our quality and fitment of all our parts. Please Note:

• This particular vehicle in the pictures decided to keep the boot lip spoiler already in place for the “Double” spoiler look.
• If you currently have a factory fitted boot lip spoiler or an aftermarket version this can be removed but there is the potential that if sealant has been used to bond it, there could be marks underneath that cannot be fully removed
