We’re really excited to introduce the NEW Carbonwurks repair flight case!

As we’re fast becoming one of the go-to companies within the UK (and to a lesser extent, worldwide) for vehicle carbon fibre repair (along with our insurance company-based repairs) we needed the ability to transport high-end large carbon fibre parts without the risk of damage.

This fully custom flight case has been manufactured to our exact specifications and can fit parts up to the size of 2.2m x 1.2m x 1m and by our quick maths is just a tad larger than a McLaren 675LT bumper (we’ve repaired a few of these)!

The idea of the case is that for the larger parts this can be requested to the customer / business location, the damaged part is loaded and then shipped back to us. We handle the logistics of the shipping aspect via the UPN Pallet Network. The process is streamlined, fully insured and means there is minimal leg work or risk for you.

Now a few things to note when using this case / service:

• A fully refundable deposit is required for use of the case. This is taken prior to the case being initially sent out for the damaged part. The refund is then repaid back once the case has returned after the repaired part has been delivered back to you.
• You need to let us know if you have access to a forklift or not. This will depend on the type of vehicle that will then deliver / pick up the case from your location.
• Ideally, we would try to aim for the case to be delivered, part loaded or unloaded and then picked up within the same day to help with timings / logistics and no requirement for you to store.
• The case is tracked to ensure we know where it is at all times as well as being double locked which you will be given the access code.
• As part of the shipping process, we will need you to provide pictures of the part loaded inside the case as well as all sides of the case itself (5-6 photos is enough).
• The part itself needs to be as protected as much as possible to avoid movement whilst in transit as this is inevitable.
• We organise insurance for the full value of the part so there is no risk for the value of the goods.
• If you are unsure whether the part you have will fit, send over some images and dimensions and we can check before shipping out.
• Generally, turn-around is 1 day to organise and then 1 day to ship to you. It then takes 1 day for this flight case to return to us.

A lot of the time logistics is the difficult part to getting damaged carbon to us and then returned. If you are more local or have the capability to hand deliver the carbon in question this is often the easiest option however, our custom-made flight case is a great option for those very high value carbon fibre parts that gives you ease and flexibility for a relatively low cost.
