The A/CLA/GLA45 engine is quite an impressive piece of engineering managing to achieve 360/380BHP from a 2-litre turbo in standard form. There are however areas that can still be improved, the intake system is one of them.
The MST Performance intake replaces the standard pipework, filter, adaptor plate and part of the airbox to get rid of the factory restrictions and the difference is quite dramatic. Dyno runs have proven around 20 bhp and similar lb-ft of torque improvements over standard. The intake also gives a great induction noise both power on and lifting off the throttle. There aren’t many intake kits on the market that replace the hose from the filter to the turbo which is where the intake airflow is effected badly, the MST kit replaces this with a heavy duty silicone pipe with machined Aluminium sensor ports.
One of the key features of this kit is that there is no cover to keep the noise down. This kit replaces the cover with a large open top to both allow maximum air capacity in the box itself and noise of which there is plenty! The new top section of the airbox seals on the bonnet which helps keep any hot engine bay air entering. The new metal filter adaptor and metal airbox cover is finished off in a super stealthy black crinkle effect.

Fitment is a direct swap; professional installation is recommended but can be replaced in around 60-90 minutes.
